I am currently training hard for this year’s Virgin London Marathon on Sunday April 26, for The Brain Tumour Charity.
The campaign aims to raise the awareness of brain tumour symptoms in children and young people. I am participating to raise awareness for this much-deserving cause, but I also aim to raise a total of £2,500 for the charity.
My fundraising total is currently £971, so I still have a little way to go to reach my target. I’m contacting you to ask whether you would be able to make a donation. Any amount would be appreciated. Every little helps!

Even if you do not want to donate simply taking the time to read the below symptoms might just save a life!
Not many people are aware that brain tumours are THE biggest cancer killer of children and young people aged 2 – 24 years in the UK, yet there is no public money going into raising this awareness. The Brain Tumour Charity is the leading funder of brain tumour research in the UK, spending over £12 million to date on pioneering projects that will help adults and children with brain tumours.
Sacha Langton-Gilks, who lost her 17 year-old son David (known as DD) to a late brain tumour diagnosis, knows just how important this awareness needs to be and it is shocking how little people know about this. Having met Sacha myself and having heard her story I want to do all I can to raise money and awareness for The Brain Tumour Charity to stop this from happening to other children.
I have already hosted a charity quiz night, which raised £550 towards my target. Any donations you can offer to help me reach my target would be greatly appreciated.
What difference will your donation make:
The Brain Tumour Charity is at the forefront of the fight to defeat brain tumours and is the only national charity making a difference every day to the lives of people with a brain tumour. We fund pioneering research, raise awareness of the symptoms and effects of brain tumours & provide support.
Since June 2011 the campaign has helped significantly lower the UK’s diagnosis time, currently at 6.7 weeks, but we are still far behind other countries; Poland, for example, being under five weeks. Learning from Sacha’s story, this lowered diagnosis time really can save lives as this timing determines whether or not that child has a chance.
Any donations you can offer to help me reach my target would be greatly appreciated.
Alternatively you can send a cheque in the post. Please make your cheque payable to Aimee Looker.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and thank you so much for any donations made, anything helps!
